Autumn Tanka Poems

sunny sky clouds haze
mellow rich delicate air
autumn whispering
only a sad dream to me
birds migrating crops all gone

autumn leaves falling
returning back to the soil
enriching the earth
preparing for life’s cycling
economical nature

rustle of crisp leaves
drying up in mid autumn
floating all around
calms me in the gentle breeze
memories of younger years

autumn crisp and clear
fall foliage rustling gently
beneath my cool feet
in harmony with my thoughts
with soft whispers rustling by

yellow and golden
falling leaves hide the wide path
spread like a carpet
a time for maturity
harvesting the fruits of life
